Auxiliary seal materials and features

YALAN Seals provides many types of auxiliary seal materials for our mechanical seals, according to different operating conditions of our clients' devices. You can check our auxiliary seal materials (Elastomers) and their features below.

Auxiliary Seal Materials

Features / Suitable Operating Conditions

NBR Type 1

Operating Temperature -15ºC to 100ºC

Mediums: petroleum base oil, lubricating grease, and water.

NBR Type 2

Operating Temperature -40ºC to 110ºC

Features: great compression deformation performance and aging resistance. 

Usages: ideal material for stationary seals; with its great oil resistivity, it is suitable for long-term operating in 150ºC oil.

NBR Type 3

Operating Temperature -40ºC to 110ºC

Features: High tensile strength and elongation, good for being used in dynamic seals.

HNBR Type 1

Operating Temperature -25ºC to 150ºC

Features: thermal shock resistant, oil resistant, fuel resistant, hydrogen sulfide corrosion-resistant, refrigerant resistant (ammonia and R1340).

HNBR Type 2

Operating Temperature -40ºC to 180ºC

Features: great mechanical performance, corrosion resistant, ozone resistant and great weather resistance.

Viton Type 1

Operating Temperature -25ºC to 250ºC

Features: high temperature resistant, ozone resistant, oil resistant, vacuum resistant, corrosion resistant.

Usage: mainly as the material for rubber bellows.

Viton Type 2

Operating Temperature -25ºC to 250ºC

Features: high temperature resistant, ozone resistant, oil resistant, vacuum resistant, corrosion resistant.

Usage: mainly as the material for O-rings.

Viton Type 3

Operating Temperature -20ºC to 200ºC

Features: high temperature resistant, vacuum resistant, strong acid and alkali resistant, oil resistant and organic solvent resistant.

Viton Type 4

Operating Temperature -20ºC to 230ºC

Features: strong oxidant resistant, oil resistant, organic solvent resistant, and strong acid and alkali resistant.

Viton Type 5

Operating Temperature -20ºC to 250ºC

Features: specifically strong acid and alkali resistant.

Viton Type 6

Operating Temperature -20ºC to 200ºC

Feature: propylene resistant.

Viton Type 7

Operating Temperature -25ºC to 230ºC

Feature: high elongation.

Usages: suitable for dynamic seals and rubber bellows.

Viton Type 8

Operating Temperature -25ºC to 230ºC

Feature: permanent deformation with compression.

Usage: suitable for stationary seals.

FEPM

Operating Temperature -20ºC to 200ºC

Features: water vapor resistant, strong alkali and oxidant resistant, mixed acid resistant, synthetic oils of phosphate esters resistant.

FEPM

Operating Temperature -25ºC to 250ºC

Features: hot water resistant, water vapor resistant, strong alkali resistant.

EPDM

Operating Temperature -25ºC to 150ºC

Features: hot water resistant, ozone resistant, polar solvent resistant, oxo solvent resistant, mineral compound resistant, organic salt resistant, weak mineral acid resistant, alkali resistant, glycol based compound resistant.

EPDM

Operating Temperature -25ºC to 150ºC

Features: weather aging resistant, water vapor resistant, high temperature resistant, low compression deformation.

Usage: suitable for stationary seals.

Aflas

Operating Temperature -20ºC to 230ºC

Features: vapor resistance, hot water resistance, methyl alcohol resistance, highly corrosive acid and alkali resistance, polar solvent resistance.

MVQ Type 1

Operating Temperature -60ºC to 230ºC

Features: high and low temperature resistant, ozone resistant, antioxidant.

MVQ Type 2

Operating Temperature -60ºC to 230ºC

Features: high and low temperature resistant, ozone resistant, antioxidant, colorless.

Usage: suitable for food processing and pharmaceutical industries.

Neoprene

Operating Temperature -45ºC to 100ºC

Features: aging resistant, ozone resistant, weather resistant.

Operating Conditions: working with coolants and glues.

ECO

Operating Temperature -20ºC to 100ºC

Features: heat resistant, oil resistant, aging resistant, cold resistant.

Operating Conditions: working with Freon and R22.

ETP Feature: acetone solvent resistant
Asbestos  
FFPM Type 1 Operating Temperature -7ºC to 275ºC, widely used 
FFPM Type 2 Operating Temperature -7ºC to 275ºC, widely used 
PTFE Spring Seal Ring

Operating Temperature -60ºC to 260ºC Liner Speed ≤ 15M/S

Operating Condition: normal corrosion.

FEP Coating MVQ

Operating Temperature -60ºC to 180ºC

Mediums: wide range of mediums except for halides, molten alkali metals, and fluorocarbons.

PFA Coating Viton 

Operating Temperature -20ºC to 220ºC

Mediums: wide range of mediums except for halides, molten alkali metals, and fluorocarbons.

PFA Coating Neoprene 

Operating Temperature -60ºC to 220ºC

Mediums: wide range of mediums except for halides, molten alkali metals, and fluorocarbons.

Grafoil/Flexible Graphite

Operating Temperature -200ºC to 1000ºC

Features: normal chemical solvent resistant, petroleum product resistant, ester resistant, vapor resistant, and reductant resistant, in oxidizing mediums (temperature no more than 400ºC).

V Type PTFE Slastomer 

Operating Temperature -150ºC to 200ºC

Mediums: wide range of mediums except for molten alkali metals and fluorine (under high pressure and temperature).

Metal Sealing Ring Type 1 Operating Conditions: high temperature (no more than 400ºC) and high pressure conditions.
Metal Sealing Ring Type 2 Operating Conditions: high temperature (no more than 400ºC) and high pressure conditions.
